A group of friends enjoying Outdoor Dining Around Hampton Roads

As warmer weather arrives, the residents of Waypoint Apartments are looking for any excuse to enjoy sunny days and star-filled nights. After months of cozy fires and hearty comfort foods, spring and summer are making way for lazy al fresco meals. Luckily, there are lots of great places to enjoy outdoor dining around Hampton Roads. Here are just a few of our favorites!

The Best Outdoor Dining Around Hampton Roads

The Deadrise

There are few things more serene than taking in a sunset as you sit by the water. Located in Fort Monroe, The Deadrise is a casual waterfront eatery that offers some of the best sunset views in the area. Picture-perfect vistas are available from every table, but the best spot to relax is inarguably the open-air deck. Not surprisingly, seafood is one of the highlights on this menu, and you can enjoy everything from steamed shrimp to pan-seared sea scallops.

Marker 20

Located in the heart of downtown Hampton, Marker 20 is a low-key restaurant that offers a large covered deck for great warm weather dining. Named for its geographical marker, this restaurant serves local seafood as well as pub-style items like sandwiches and fries. Live music and other events make the deck a lively outdoor spot for lunch or dinner.

The Barking Dog

A local favorite, The Barking Dog is another great waterfront spot that is located just outside the historic district of downtown Hampton. Located in a former fish shack, The Barking Dog has been transformed into a casual restaurant known for its extensive hot dog menu. Favorites include the “Lucha Libre Dog,” served with baked beans, and the “Carolina Drive-In Dog,” featuring chopped BBQ.
